Today I worked on this logo that represents my vision for a lovely place to be. When I look at this little logo, I feel happy. It will be so nice to create spaces like this with you.
I used an oak tree since it is very strong and represents a good foundation. Large trees in the landscape must be placed just right so we can enjoy their company without getting too much shade. This tree would be very good in the northwest of a larger property here in the San Fernando Valley. This position will offer protection from the hot summer afternoon sun. And by winter when the sun is low in the southern sky, the tree will not be blocking light needed to warm us up and keep our gardens growing.
Chickens, ducks, rabbits and goats are all great small animals to have for the products, services and friendship they provide.
Chickens are great soil conditioners and pest control. They are also very entertaining and give great eggs when they are are able to forage for themselves on natural food.
Ducks also give delicious eggs, and they eat different pests including slugs and snails without harming established plants.
Rabbits are excellent at turning grass into fertilizer that can go directly onto the garden. And their manure is even more nutrient dense if it is processed through a composting worm system before using on plants.
Goats are useful for keeping excess plant material pruned and turning it into milk and fertilizer.
The houses are made of cob which is a mixture of sand, clay, straw and water. They are beautiful and special since they are mostly hand sculpted and can be any shape. They are fireproof, breathable, nontoxic and have amazing strength to stand up to seismic activity. Plus, doors, windows, cabinets, furniture and hardward can be diverted from the landfill and turned into beautiful components with a little creativity and elbow grease.
I am dreaming of the day we meet and get to start working on amazing projects together. Hopefully that day will be soon 🙂
