Natural Building
We will be building a bench in the meditation garden by mixing sand, clay and straw with materials available on site. The techniques you learn will prepare you to build features on your property as well as introduce you to the fundamentals of crafting larger structures such as sheds and small dwellings.
Permaculture
This Permaculture Design Certificate Course (PDC) is a 10- day, 72- hour training.
Throughout the course, we explore the permaculture design system that is capable of establishing regenerative communities and economies. We will practice taking action and being the solution to climate change while bonding in a supportive community of like minds and hearts.
This is a unique course that was developed at UC Riverside Palm Desert in cooperation with a diverse group of volunteers from UCCE Master Gardeners, UC Naturalists and UC Climate Stewards.
Students who complete the curriculum earn the internationally recognized Permaculture Design Certificate with the honors and privileges of a permaculture designer, consultant and teacher.
Course Information
Both courses are being hosted by Humboldt Experience Farmstay, a 40- acre permaculture homestead with 20 years of establishment. Eloise and Munro will be preparing delicious farm fresh meals and making sure hot showers are available. Your campsite is included, please bring your own camping equipment. Arrive on June 30th to get set up for Natural Building Workshop and arrive July 4th to set up for PDC. If you are taking both courses, you will have a free day on July 4th to enjoy the beautiful river and all the property has to offer.
